Advanced Differential Calculus - The idea of ∆z and dz
Amidst all these new definitions, we may be confused with the terms ∆z and dz.
Basically, ∆z is an actual change in the z value was we move ALONG the surface. dz is an approximate change (linear) in the z value corresponding to ∆x and ∆y. The approximation makes use of gradients and tangents at that point.
