Lecture 11: QM2.6 Potential Step E ≤ V₀ - Particle-like gets stopped

4.1 ( 11 )

Lecture Details

The Potential Step, case E ≤ V₀
We look at the situation when the energy of the particle is less than or equal to V₀. Classically, all the particles arriving at the step from the left will be stopped at x = 0. We will soon find out that quantum mechanically, this also happens but it is applicable ONLY to the particle-like behavior of the particles.
