Lecture 4: How to solve polynomial equations involving complex numbers. Chris Tisdell UNSW Sydney

4.1 ( 11 )

Lecture Details

I discuss a simple example illustrating how to solve polynomial equations involving complex numbers. The method involves the polar form of a complex number. Such ideas are seen in high-school and first-year university mathematics.

In the analysis of applied problems, we often need to solve equations, with the solution(s) being the desired information that we seek. Equations involving complex numbers can require more care to solve.
