Three basic problems from algebra are discussed and solved. This includes questions involving the equation of a line in 3-dimensional space; the span of a set of vectors; systems of simultaneous equations.
The methods involve basic algebraic techniques such as matrix methods and Gaussian elimination. Such ideas are seen in first year university mathematics.
