The National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT), Chennai is a flagship institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research (DHR) of Govt. of India. It is an internationally reputed centre for Tuberculosis (TB) research and a WHO Collaborating Centre for TB Research and Training. The online free course for doctors Manage TB is an initiative of the NIRT to address the felt need of sensitizing doctors both in public and private sector to the standards of care and the new guidelines and developments in the modern management of TB. The course has been designed keeping in mind the busy schedule of practicing Physicians. We believe that this is the first online course of this type in India and we are confident it will enable practicing doctors to keep themselves abreast of current developments and best clinical practices in the management and control of this disease.
