A seminar to the Econ and Finance Dept at the University of Canterbury by visiting erskine professor James Alm on his research using laboratory experiments to test the effectiveness of "kinder friendlier" taxpayer service programs in enhancing tax compliance. ..... Results indicate that user friendly tax agency provided information on an individuals tax liability has little impact on the tendency of an individual to file a tax return, but that this information has a significant and positive effect on reporting for individuals who choose to file a return.
